Colour Me Confident: Meet Becca From Vera Rae

You know that feeling when you’re standing in front of a wardrobe full of clothes… and still thinking, “I have nothing to wear”? Yep. Same.

This week’s PowerWomen feature couldn’t be more perfectly timed. As we get ready for our ‘Find Your Power Palette’ event this weekend with the brilliant Becca from Vera Rae Image Consultancy to Level Up, we wanted you to get to know the woman behind the magic.

With a background in marketing communications and a passion for helping women feel like themselves again, Becca believes style isn’t about trends or labels. It’s about clarity. It’s about understanding your shape as it is today. And it’s about stepping into rooms with quiet confidence, not second-guessing.

If you’ve ever felt like you’ve outgrown your wardrobe, your old style, or even parts of your former self… this one’s for you.

What led you to where you are now?I’ve always believed that how we present ourselves can influence how we feel and show up. With a background in marketing communication, I’ve spent years helping businesses communicate who they are with clarity and confidence. Over time, I realised women were craving that same clarity for themselves. I know that there are so many brilliant, capable women standing in front of wardrobes full of clothes each morning and still feeling like they ‘have nothing to wear’. Vera Rae was born from a desire to change that - to help women feel like themselves again, and to step into rooms with quiet confidence.

Why ‘Vera Rae’?

The name Vera Rae felt timeless, feminine and quietly strong. ‘Vera’ comes from Latin and means truth and authenticity - being true to yourself, whilst ‘Rae’ carries warmth and light. Together they reflect what the brand stands for: helping women feel comfortable, confident and completely themselves in what they wear, without pressure to be someone else or to fit in with the latest trends.

What’s the biggest style struggle women come to you with?

Almost always: ‘I have a wardrobe full of clothes but nothing to wear.’

It’s rarely about needing more. It’s about clarity. Many women have outgrown parts of their wardrobe or lost a sense of what truly suits them now. Our bodies change through different stages of life - whether through career shifts, motherhood, menopause, lifestyle changes or simply time - and pieces that once felt effortless suddenly don’t feel quite right.

When that happens, getting dressed can become frustrating and confidence can quietly dip. It’s not about dress size; it’s about understanding your shape as it is today and learning how to dress it in a way that feels flattering, comfortable and aligned. The right colours, the right silhouettes and thoughtful styling make all the difference.

Most women don’t need an entirely new wardrobe - they simply need guidance to make what they wear work beautifully for the life and body they have now.

How can style impact confidence or daily life?

Style is often underestimated. When you feel comfortable and confident in what you’re wearing, you carry yourself differently. You speak up more, move differently and show up more fully. It removes a layer of self-consciousness and replaces it with ease.

What happens when someone works with Vera Rae?

It’s a supportive, collaborative process. We begin by understanding who they are, their lifestyle, and how they want to feel - and be perceived. From there, we refine their wardrobe, identify what truly works, and build a clear, wearable style that feels authentic and effortless to them.

The goal is never to change someone; it’s to help them rediscover their own sense of style and understand how to dress in a way that complements their body shape and enhances their natural confidence.

What surprises clients most about the styling process, and is it just for special occasions?

Most are surprised by how considered and personal the process is. Many expect personal styling to be purely about fashion or shopping, or something reserved for celebrities or wealthy women, but it’s much more about understanding themselves and building a wardrobe that supports their real, everyday life. I’m passionate about making styling feel attainable, which is why I offer realistic, accessible pricing so more women can experience the confidence that comes from feeling comfortable and aligned in what they wear.

In fact, everyday life is where styling has the greatest impact. When your wardrobe works beautifully for you - your lifestyle, body and personality - everything else feels easier, more confident and more aligned.

What would you say to someone thinking about investing in styling but unsure?I always say to think of it as an investment in your daily confidence, just as you would with a regular beauty appointment or self-care ritual. The right wardrobe supports you every single day: at work, socially, and in the quieter moments of your own life. When what you’re wearing feels right, you feel more like yourself.

Styling doesn’t have to mean a complete overhaul all at once. My Bespoke Style Plans are designed to meet you where you are. For some, that begins with my Vera Signature - focusing on the foundations of colour and style analysis to bring clarity and direction. For others, it’s a more transformative journey over several months, refining every aspect of their wardrobe and personal style.

I’m passionate about making this experience feel accessible and supportive, so flexible, interest-free payment plans are available. Every woman deserves to feel confident and comfortable in what she wears, and there’s always a way to begin.

...

What we love most about Becca’s approach is this: it’s not about changing who you are. It’s about rediscovering her. Because when what you’re wearing feels aligned, everything else shifts too. You speak up more. You move differently. You show up fully.

And that’s exactly what we’re about at Level Up.

If you’re joining us this weekend, get ready for clarity, colour, and a few lightbulb moments about your wardrobe. If you’re still thinking about it… consider this your sign.
